Camp, Day Three

Yesterday morning started with the high-ropes experiences. There was a zip line, and there was a kind of vertical obstacle course that the counselors called “nessie”. The zip line was first. I had entertained the idea of trying the zip line because I’ve never done that before, but the pole was 30 feet in the air, and it wobbled. And I have a pretty strong fear of heights.

The back of the helmets reminded me of Storm Troopers.

One of the boys got scared after he got to the top of the zip line. Climbing back down was not an option, because it was a lot more dangerous than just doing the zip line. The counselor at the top talked the boy through it. He was amazing. It took about 45 minutes for the boy to finally go down the line. The courage he showed in overcoming his fear was impressive.

After lunch, we had some clean-up time, a nature walk, and closing worship. Then we came home. Last night I slept in my own bed, and I had the air conditioner on full blast. ahhhhhhh…

Bravery: Being scared and doing it anyway. Kudos to that boy for doing it! I’m sure I couldn’t have done a zip line. Not unless they provide Depends.

    Enjoy the comforts of home!

That was a long field trip. I think you are brave for doing that!
