Cousin Mike and his wife Sandra had us over to their house yesterday. It was my first time visiting them at their new house. It… was… amazing! Their property and house look like a resort to me. Beautiful appointments, thoughtful layout, and cool details all over the place. Here’s their house:

Their house is at the top of a cliff overlooking the Platte River. Here is the view:

Down a short steep road was a cabin at the edge of the water. They have it stocked and decorated like a club house! It would be a wonderful place to have a party or even just sit and relax while watching the river. Check out the view from the balcony:

Mike is a hunter, and prepares deer meat in many and various ways. I don’t remember tasting a better deer sausage than the one he gave us last night. But the star of the evening was the deer steak he served. I don’t think I’ve ever had deer steak before. It was so good I made noises the whole time I ate it. It was tender and flavorful and juicy.
Mmm…
Mike was looking at the date on the meat he pulled out of the freezer, and realized it was from a deer whose skull he had cleaned and hung on his garage wall. He even stuck small lights in the eye sockets. Ha!
Don’t feel bad we ate a deer. It must have been evil. Just look at those eyes!

At 1st glance I thought that was a picture of a church! Gorgeous! And what a view … I imagine living there would be like being on vacation all the time. And I 2nd the question: any pics of the inside?
(Also, I would shame you on eating the deer, but having eaten & enjoyed reindeer ….I must refrain. I’m sorry reindeer.)
I didn’t take pictures of the inside. Sorry. It was really cool…. a large main room with a loft. Sandra did a great job decorating. It’s wonderful.
