Expensive Liquid

Happy Birthday, Lauren! Woo hoo! You are SO much older and wiser than me. For about seven weeks. Then I catch up with you.

Last night, I was filling out a form for work that asked me about my housing expenses. One of the line items was my water bill. I just so happened to have a current bill sitting on my coffee table, so I used that number to calculate the yearly amount I pay for water. It was over $700! Yikes! I mean, I know I get these bills every once in a while, and they look really big, but it’s my water bill. What am I going to do, not pay it? So I usually hardly even look at the total.

It seems like I hear my friends (who don’t live in Baltimore City) talk about water bills of $30 and such. I wonder why Baltimore City water is so expensive. Maybe it’s got gold in it. I should run it through a strainer to see if I can catch any.

This is for 130 days.

As a County resident with “cheap” water, does it make you feel better to hear that our bill has nearly doubled since we’ve lived in this house? It’s up to $14+ now…every three months …ahem.

Rumor has it, the County made one of those 99 year deals with the City a while back allowing County use of City water and all the machinery that makes transport of same throughout the watershed possible in exchange for something I can’t recall at this hour of the morning. Great deal makers, if you ask me. Wonder what happens once those 99 years are over, though?

Meanwhile, at least our property tax bills are higher than — no, wait…

Well, then, there’s the fees for trash pick-up….that we don’t have either.

    Ever consider moving?

    Thank you! 🙂

Good grief. At those prices you might as well pay us to ship you from water from Nebraska. Expect the first shipment around January 11. Oh, and clear a big spot on your porch for it.

Sounds Like The Price Of Arlington’s “Liquid Gold”!!!! 🙂
