Sports Day

Yesterday was a field trip day. We went to a special presentation of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. It was a sports-themed concert. It was very well done and entertaining. To add to the excitement, Kim was there! Her school came for the concert too. It was so fun to chat with her!

Our seats were right in front. Since we were off to the side and there were some giant speakers in the way, our view was blocked. It was a little frustrating. At the same time, being so close was interesting. I always imagine orchestra instrumentalists as inhuman godlike creatures, but as I watched them play, I saw that they were real people. It was delightful!

They were all wearing sports or exercise clothes.

After the concert, we went to have a tour of M&T Bank Stadium where the Baltimore Ravens play.

It was my first time there.

I was excited to see the inside of the stadium. I should go to a game sometime. I was most excited to be in the locker room. It’s where the actual Ravens actually get ready for games! Our tour guide knew where some of the specific players’ lockers were. This was Joe Flacco’s:

The kids were excited too!

After the locker room, we saw the the press box. It was beautiful, and the view of the field was spectacular. We didn’t actually go down to the field because it was really cold and because the artificial turf is being replaced. You can see the progress in the picture below:

It was a really nice room.

We saw some other areas as well. It was a great tour, and the end of a great day.

Oh, my goodness. TWO amazing places to visit in one field trip? Around here, a big-deal field trip is going to the box factory, and I’m not even joking.

I love seeing the orchestra in regular clothes! And that locker room is gorgeous! What an amazing day!

Where do ravens rank on your scale of birds?

      Ravens are an eight.
