Balloons and Bacon

Yesterday started with a special church service that included the Blessing of the Backpacks. Lots of kids showed up. It was cool. At the end of the service, the kids lined up and received a special blessing from the pastor. Then they got a balloon and a pencil. 🙂

I didn't really do anything but stand in the front and look pretty.

I spent a while working at school, but it doesn’t feel like I did very much. Today is the first day of school, but it’s only a half day, so it’s a nice warm-up.

I talked on the phone with Beth since it was her birthday. She called me! Ha! She suggested I make BLT’s for dinner. Yum! I did it. I used tomatoes from my garden. They are soooo good!

I pulled the lettuce off to show the bacon and tomatoes.

Happy first half day of school! I know it will go splendidly, and then you have extra time to fret about tomorrow! 🙂

    Seriously, I hope it’s a great day.

I think the teachers should get balloons in their classrooms for the first day of school. It would make things appear more festive!
