A Titanic Friday

Usually in Black Friday, I go out into the crowds and experience the party-like atmosphere of people desperately trying to save 20% on things they don’t really want to buy. Yesterday was very different.

We started the day at the Titanic museum in Pigeon Forge.

It was really interesting. There was so much information. Plus, the museum itself was built to look like the ship. In this hallway, there were mirrors to make it look really long.

There was a room that talked about the musicians who went down with the ship. The room had a piano in it. There was a museum worker playing the piano. Ed started chatting with her and she invited him to play. Pretty soon, a violinist came along. They played a song together. It was cool.

There was even a cold room with a simulated iceberg. It was amazing.

After the museum, we ate lunch, then headed back to Knoxville. We dropped Debbie off to feed her dogs and chickens, and the rest of us went to the Knoxville Museum of Art.

The museum had cool stuff in it.

A bunch of miniature rooms:

An old lady holding a baby:

The lady and baby weren’t real. Isn’t that cool? They looked like real people!

We drove past our old house before it got dark. It looks different in a lot of ways, but it still brought back memories.

Before heading back to Ed and Jo’s house to hang out for the evening, we stopped at a Krispie Kreme donut place. They had hot donuts!

The donut-making machine was running. It was fascinating to watch.

We got a dozen. Mmmm…

We ended the evening with food and tv and fire. Ehhhxcellent…

Um, judging your photos, I think your plane might have actually gone down and you are in heaven. My heaven, anyway. Miniature rooms, donuts and fire? Pure bliss.

I wonder why there is a Titanic museum in Tennessee?

I thought that was interesting too. It is sponsored by the guy who dived at the wreck site. He has one other site in the world – in Branson, MO. I was wondering why he chose Country music locations for his museums.
