Tomates

I have some grape tomatoes that have French on the package as well as English. It makes for a very confusing label.

Tomatoes? Raisins?

Tomatoes? Raisins?

In other news, it’s Friday! Yay! I’m hoping to get some plants in the ground this weekend. I got them on clearance a couple of weeks ago. They will not survive the winter if I leave them in their pots.

Ha! Tomato raisins! That’s what your bowl of tomatoes were striving to become the other day.

(Why is it French if it came from Mexico? Wait. Ontario? How far have those tomatoes traveled?)

In computer programming texts the vertical bar means “or”, so I think they are saying that they are in some sort of indeterminate state until you open the package, then they become one of the other. At least that’s how I read it.

I don’t like tomatoes….even if someone calls them a raisin.
