Cocoa Container Coda

Last night I did something I don’t remember ever doing before: I got to the bottom of a container of cocoa powder. It takes me a while to get through a container, because I only use cocoa powder for two recipes.

I use cocoa powder to make chocolate no-bake cookies (that our family calls Canadian cookies), but I don’t do that very often, because I have little self-control when it comes to those cookies and I eat an embarrassing amount of them.

I also use cocoa powder to make a kind of “batter” that I eat with a spoon. It sort of resembles brownie batter to me, but it doesn’t have the same ingredients. It has sugar, cocoa, vanilla, salt, and milk. I just follow the recipe on the container for hot cocoa, but instead of adding a lot of milk, I only add just enough to make the mixture be the consistency of batter. It makes a good snack. It has a lot of sugar in it, but the rest of the ingredients are not so bad.

Cocoa has antioxidants, right? That's healthy, right?

That’s got to provide a sense of accomplishment. As far as your snack being healthy, it reminds me of the Nutella commercial that touts it as super-healthy ‘with just a touch of cocoa’. šŸ˜‰
