Premature Petals

It was warm again yesterday. The unseasonable warmness is having an effect on plants in the area. At my school, I saw two maple trees in full bloom. And then yesterday, I saw this:

There were rainstorms on their way.

It was hard to get a good picture because they were back-lit.

A cherry tree! There was a cherry tree blooming near my house. This can’t possibly be good. I can’t imagine we’re done with the cold weather yet. There have been plenty of years where we had heavy snows in March. Hopefully it won’t cause widespread permanent damage to gardens and fruit crops around here.

Yeah, that’s not good. Can they recover from that? My parents live where there are lots of fruit trees and if they have a late frost after the fruit blooms, that’s pretty much it.

Here’s hoping for a semi-mild end to winter. 😐 (Will that make a serious face?)
