In my search for turkeys, I finally found place that carried them. There were two small un-frozen turkeys. I didn’t get one on Thursday because I had handbell practice and didn’t want to mess with keeping the turkey refrigerated at church, so yesterday I went back to that same grocery store to get my bird. And saw this:
Ha! It was dozens of frozen turkeys! I got a nice eighteen-pounder. I want to have lots of leftovers.
While I was in the grocery store, I decided to get some chocolate milk. The dairy case had a brand of milk I’d never seen before, so I got it. They had strawberry milk too, so I got that too.
They were delicious. I haven’t really liked my regular brand lately, so I’ve avoided the once-delicious flavored milks. I think I have a new favorite brand.
Here are my reviews of the two flavors I tasted:
Chocolate: Creamy, rich, and smoky. It is what people who use the phrase would call not to sweet.
Strawberry: A light, creamy, floral strawberry flavor, with no unpleasant aftertaste.
I can imagine the commercials for the Promised Land brand: “Straight from the land of milk and honey: the milk” 😉
I don’t think I’ve ever had strawberry milk. Your review is tempting, though…
Do you have enough time to thaw a turkey before the big dinner? This is so exciting!
I did a “danger thaw” – I put it in the sink in a bath of cool water. My cooking method is to leave it in the oven for an extra long time, so it’s ok.
Use a turkey bag. It’s a wonderful thing. It helps keep your bird from drying out. So, so easy!!!
I do it like my mom: put it in a pan, and seal it with aluminum foil. I would guess that’s the same thing a turkey bag does.
I just googled it. That looks really interesting. It looks like it would keep my roasting pan a lot cleaner. Hmmm… Maybe I’ll have to try that next time.
