Preparations for my big move this summer have been taking most of my free time, so I don’t have much time to enjoy my garden these days. Yesterday I took a stroll through and noticed that two of my weirdest flowers were blooming.
The pitcher plant in my pond didn’t bloom last year, because it wasn’t well-established yet. This year I got two blooms. They look like flying saucers. Ha!
My dragon lily is blooming too. This usually blooms in the first warmth of spring. It’s been a confusing couple of months for this plant though, because it was so warm early on, then cold again. The flower usually smells like rotting meat, but only for a day or so. I missed it. I’m not too disappointed. It’s a very convincing replication of the odor.
Sorry you missed your rotten meat plant. I’m not even being flippant. I am genuinely sorry.
That other one is pretty cool looking!

Um, I don’t know why that says that in the link. It’s actually a link to a stinky plant.
