Container Moving, Container Gardening

The shipping container for moving my stuff to Maui was delivered yesterday. I have to admit, I didn’t really do very much during the day while I was waiting for it. I had worked hard at school the previous day, so I felt like I deserved to sit a little.

The bank manager graciously allowed the container to be put in the parking lot. While I was talking with him, I found out he was a birdwatcher. He even asked if I would like to go bird watching with him some time. Yes! I would have loved that. But my Baltimore days are numbered.

The Brad is for scale.

The container is bigger than I thought it would be. I think I might have trouble filling it.

One of the things I’ve decided to take is a set of pots I’ve been using in my garden. They are made of resin (plastic), are very durable, and are of different shapes and sizes, but the same color. I spent several years gathering this collection.

Hawaii does not have gypsy moths, so if you bring anything that spent time outside, you have to make sure there are no gypsy moth eggs on it. I scrubbed all the pots clean and set them out to dry.

I didn't realize I had so many until I put them in one place.

Today will be a boxing day. I’m guessing that most of the actual packing of the container will happen tomorrow. It gets picked up on Monday.

“Boxing Day” – I didn’t know you were Canadian.

Too bad those pots aren’t rectangular. You could just pack all your stuff inside them and you’d be set. Although, I guess you could still do that. Tretris that thing!

    Time lapse, please.

Look at those lovely starter flowers on the flats. I don’t suppose those would survive a trip overseas.

I’m guessing you’ll fill that container fuller than you think. If not, Lloyd could surely hitch a ride.

Wow, what a nice collection!! And all the same color! I could never do that?? I love monochromatic themes but can never make myself not be a rainbow! ha How great that you can take so much stuff with you! I know you’ll have a spectacular garden over there! I’m sure the vegetation is so different there. You’ll be right at home. 🙂
