Sleeping Tall

For a long time, I’ve wondered what it would be like to get those bed stilts. You know, those things they sell in the “off to college” section of stores? They’re tall plastic feet you put under your bed so you can store stuff underneath your bed? Well, yesterday I finally got some bed stilts, just to see what they’re like.

First of all, I have to complain that they’re sold in sets of four. While shopping for a bed frame, I saw absolutely no bed frames that had four feet. Almost all of them had six. Some had nine. I had to buy two packages of bed stilts and have two stilts left over. What am I supposed to do with two bed stilts?

It was so hot in the room while I was working.

Second of all, I have to say – a bed on bed stilts is so tall! I have to climb up to get on the bed. I think I will leave it this way for a while just for the novelty of it. But I didn’t sleep in this bed last night. It was too hot. Today I hope to get a fan in the bedroom window and sheets on the bed. Then maybe I’ll see what it’s like to sleep up among the clouds….

Maybe I should put a step ladder next to the bed...

Woah! That is tall! You’ve got a real ‘princess and the pea’ situation there. I like it – it will make it harder for the geckos to climb in.

It took me a long time to figure out that in the top picture, that is your box spring off to the right. I thought I was seeing curtains, and that it was a very, very small bedroom.

Those stilts won’t save you from the Hawaiian centipedes. Good try though.

Hahaha! I have not seen one yet – though I haven’t really gone looking for one. I’ve been sleeping on the floor of my living room. No bites yet…

They bite?!? Yikes! Well, I hope you never get bit…..I suppose one of them could take off an arm or a leg!

I LOVE my bed stilts, but can’t use them anymore. I have 4 laying around that I don’t need. I would have happily gifted them to you, if I had known. 🙁

Why can’t you use them? Is it because they make your bed five feet tall, and you lost the ladder you used to get into bed?
