Time Flies

I spent a lot of time in my classroom yesterday. I’m finally starting to feel settled in. One of the things I did was work on my bio for the school’s website. Right now, it has something that someone else wrote. Principal David wanted something written by me.

The other thing that needs to change is my picture. It’s lifted from Facebook. My Facebook picture is tongue-in-cheek, and I’d really rather have something else as my official picture for school. While I was trying to figure out what to do, I happened to do an image search on my picture. The results were hilarious!

Senior citizen?!?

Senior citizen?!?

Ha! Senior citizen! Google even found a bunch of old guys in blue shirts like me. I guess it’s time to start asking for the senior discounts at IHOP. (I ate there for dinner yesterday, by the way. It was 5pm. Not as early bird as it could have been, but there was another old guy eating by himself two booths away from me. He did not have a blue shirt on.)

Please pronounce that ‘Señor Citizen’. As far as your bio picture, would you like me to draw a cartoon? 🙂 I had to take a portrait of myself once (thank you for having a timer, iPad), and took dozens of weird-eyed photos. I have weird eyes.

I like your school’s website bio page. It’s nice to read a little more detail about the people you’ll be working with!

Now I have deep fear of ever doing a Google image search on myself. How much older could Google think I am than you, ya’ young whipper-snapper?!

Off to visit your new school’s website now. (Tomorrow I get to have my picture taken for the web site of a Lutheran School where I had been subbing and they are now offering me a 2 day/week gig. Perhaps I should try the tongue-in-cheek look? Hmmm…)
