Inferno

Yesterday in church was “Childrens’ Sunday” – the lower grades sang and read prayers and Bible readings. It was cute. I sing in the chapel praise band, so I was in front leading the songs yesterday. There are some motions. I am naturally a little awkward when it comes to motion songs, but when I’m in front of kids, it’s very different, and I get carried away. It was fun.

After church was the usual weeping and gnashing of teeth as I did paperwork in my classroom. I’m thinking maybe I should try doing it on Saturday next weekend.

On my way home, I stopped at Target for some peanut butter. I also bought some wine on impulse. It was Apothic brand. I like Apothic Red. This was one called “Inferno”. I had a glass when I got home. I didn’t like it as much as the other kind.

Beth sent the cricket picture. It was sitting there already, so I turned it toward the camera.

There are so many interesting things in your picture! The cricket photo is adorable. What is that ticket for? A raffle? When did you get a shelf? Did I miss a post? Is that an end table?

I wish we had video of the singing and action-making. I bet it was fun. 🙂

The ticket is from the “swap meet” that happens every Saturday. It costs 50 cents to get in, and they give you a ticket. I went there looking for a hat. I didn’t find one. I was going to order one from Amazon, but it’s not a Prime item. Now I’m trying to decide if I want to pay regular shipping.

The small cabinet is something I brought from Maryland. I’m surprised I didn’t post about the shelves. I got it from TJ Maxx. I intend for it to be my TV stand, but I’m keeping the TV on the floor until I get a couch.

I too noticed the shelf! Brad has a shelf!! And the cricket is a fun house gift when someone moves. It’s a “good luck” thing. And wine, yes a nice way to end the day.

I just sucked up 3 dead crickets inside my house with the vacuum. Is that good luck?

As one who used to regularly invest 6-8 hours each Saturday on paperwork and planning may I say – NUTS TO IT ALL! Were I to do this full time again, the planning would still take a chunk of time, but I’d do a lot more electronic stuff than hard-copy, much more student graded with a key, etc., and only need to bury myself in formal summative (or however that should be spelled) assessments or long-term projects. [That looks really good typed here – why, I ask myself, did I never bite that bullet when it could have bought me a weekend back once in a while?] I am a tad worried that this pace is driving you to drink already 😉 .
