Temperature Regulation

When I come home after school, my apartment is HOT! I turn on the air conditioner right away, but it takes a while for the cool air to get from the living room to the bedroom, even with fans helping move it along.

At bedtime, it can still be kind of warm in my bedroom, so I have just a sheet. As the night goes on, I pull a lightweight duvet on as a cover. By morning, it can be really cold. That’s when I pull the quilt over. If that doesn’t seem to do it, I have a small blanket hanging on the closet doorknob that I can pull under the sheet. It warms me quickly.

I need to get a bedside table.

I am sorry it takes so long to cool down. Did you say that September was the hottest time?

I am amazed you haven’t just set the bed up in the living room. That’s living the dream, man.

What are electricity rates (compared with Baltimore’s, at least)? Would it be worth it to leave the A/C unit on low all day just so you can arrive home to comfort?

This old gal subbed in a room with a failing A/C unit this past Wednesday. Think “frog in the kettle”. By the end of the day, a piece of wilted lettuce seeped out into the hallway, where it seemed 25 degrees cooler. You can guess whether I would regularly and cheerfully pay the extra electric bill to keep my apartment cool all day or not.
