Singing and Eating and Grading

I’m leading the middle school choir at school this year. Yesterday they sang in church. They sounded really good, but they were a little quiet. I’ll have to get them to embrace the abandon. I think I can do it. They are a naturally easy-going group. I just have to get them to not fear feeling silly.

We have to work on looking up from the papers too...

After church, I went to my classroom to have a sad, sad day of grading. But then my phone rang, and Kaala, Andrea, and Gabi invited me to lunch. Yay! I had breakfast for lunch… scrambled eggs and fried Spam. Kaala ordered some banana pancakes for the table to share. It was all delicious!

It's been a while since I had Spam. Mmm... it was good...

After lunch, I went back to my classroom. I worked until almost 7pm, but I got caught up with my grading. Woo hoo! Now if I could just keep up with things during the week…

Yay for breakfast foods and singing! I am sorry you had to grade, but it’s great that you got caught up. Here’s to a productive week!

Yea for choirs! (Ours sounded wonderful Sunday but are several decades older than your group…they’re way past any inhibitions.) So glad to know you are doing this as part of your ministry this year. God has gifted you in this area (among others) and praising Him in song – doesn’t get much better (even when its done quietly…)

I almost phoned you over the weekend as dear Thurman was out of town until late Saturday, but that turned out to be an amazingly full day after all, and Sunday quickly filled up, too; I was spent by bedtime (which would have been about 4 pm your time) – next time I’ll aim to stay awake long enough to do that so I can interrupt your sad, sad grading time a bit. Miss your voice.
