Happy Birthday to Brent and Alicia! Woo hoo! Double birthday!
Ever since I moved into my classroom, I’ve been looking for a small Hawaii state flag. I’ve found American flags of all sizes, but the Hawaii flags I’ve found are only 3’x5′ – too big for my classroom.
It seems strange to me that it’s so hard to find a state flag – Maryland flags were all over the place in Baltimore. With Hawaii’s history, I would think there would be strong state pride, much like Texas. I’d think there would be state flags for sale in every gas station.
Instead, it’s taken me over two months of searching to find it:
.Please keep Denis and Gus in your prayers as they begin their trip here.
That is a beautiful flag. Did you have to get it from Amazon? ‘Yay’ for a successful quest!
I am praying for safe travels for Denis and Gus, and thanking God for birthday blessings! 🙂
Thank you for your prayers! Denis and Gus have landed safely in L.A. The flight was good and Gus was ok. One more leg of the flight tomorrow. They have to wait until tomorrow because Gus has to arrive during certain prescribed hours in order to be examined by a vet at the airport and cleared for immediate release.
All paws are crossed here in Rosedale that Gus is in fine shape when he disembarks on the sunny shores of his new home. Smooth flight, everyone!
I can honestly say I had never seen Hawaiia’s flag before (that I can recall) – interesting symbolism there. Now I need to learn the names of the other islands I cannot recall now (let’s see: Oahu…Hawaii………..Maui, of course………uh……)
Do you say the pledge of allegiance to the flag of Hawaii like we do here for the Texas flag?
