Docked

There are cruise ships that regularly stop in Maui. I think they’re here every Sunday. They are always quite a sight. They tower over all the buildings in Kahului.

On my way to church yesterday, I tried to get a picture. It’s kind of blurry, but I think it shows the size of the ship. It’s giant!

I always feel a little bad for the people on the ship. The place where it docks is kind of industrial – not much of a representation of the beauty of Maui. I do know that there are lots of opportunities for excursions though. I see the shuttles taking people all over the place.

Good grief – it looks like a factory! I guess in a way it’s its own little city – hotel, restaurants, entertainment, home for staff. It’s nuts that it can float.

(It’s also a little freaky to me that the ocean is at the end of that road.)

Oh yes, and your Dad and I and a group of friends arrived on a cruise ship and took an excursion onto your beautiful island. So fun and such good memories!
