A Quick Trip to Lincoln

I went to Lincoln with my mom yesterday. The ostensible reason was to get a small Nebraska calendar for next to my desk. I ended up getting a wonderful bunch of other things as well. Woo hoo!

At the bookstore, I got the calendar, a book light, and the most current Newbery Award winning book.

Next, we went to Kohl’s. I was hoping that maybe I could find some shorts. The only shorts I found were in the clearance section. They were $8 and less! I got three pairs. I also got a couple of t-shirts and a polo. Total price? $32. Amazing!

Right next to Kohl’s was Dunkin Donuts. Thurman and Carol gave me a gift card when I left Baltimore, and I haven’t had a chance to use it. Until yesterday. My mom and I had a delightful donut break, and I got some ground coffee to take back to my classroom in Maui. Thanks, Thurman and Carol!

Delicious!

Delicious!

On the way home, we saw a beautiful sunset. In Hawaii, clouds are always close to the ground. The clouds in the sunset yesterday were high up in the air. It made the sky look so big. It was cool.

So beautiful

So beautiful

That looks like a fantastic day! I can’t believe the deal that you got on the clothes. Well shopped, you two! You conquered the quest!

…and you’re welcome, sir. Glad you did actually find a way to use it! And glad you had a Day with Mom while you were home. And happy to read of all your bargain shopping. And I have a snow day today so another week away from students for me (wee!) [as I only work 2 days/week there and they were still closed Tuesday for Christmas break]. Oh….sorry…I’m rambling now.

When do you need to be back in Maui? Did you get a full two weeks off? Safe travels back, whenever that is.
