Vet Visit

Gus still has itchy bumps on his body, so I called the vet and asked if they had any openings. They did, so I took him in.

It was the same doctor how saw him last time. We discussed whether this might be an allergic reaction of some kind, and what the allergen could be. In the end we came to no conclusions.

He was nervous.

He was nervous.

I was sent home with an antibiotic and a steroid. I’m supposed to squirt the liquid medications in his mouth. The evening doses didn’t go real well. Some of the antibiotic squirted out onto his leg. The steroid squirted down his throat and made him gag a little.

Ah, the joy of administering oral feline medication – good times.

[One has not lived until one has attempted to squirt that bubble-gum pink antibiotic stuff into a cat’s mouth – instant repainting of whatever room you tried that in.]

“Feel better, Gus!” And we hope he is not the eternally allergic to life guy our Sonny is – he’ll be on Temeral-P probably for the rest of his days. No known allergen there either. Sigh.

Rats. That is very frustrating. I hope that this round is the cure! Feel better, Gus!

I had to wear garden gloves to try and medicate my cat Snickers! Not a good scene.
