Because I have guests coming, I’ve been looking for a guest bed. At first, I was thinking queen size, but my mom pointed out that two twins would be more versatile. I was thinking maybe I’d get bunk beds. That way I could stack them or un-stack them according to how much floor space I wanted. I’ve been looking on Craigslist every day.
But I found something better than bunk beds: a tall twin bed with a trundle bed that rolls underneath it. Perfect!
If you would have told me before I moved here that I would ever buy used mattresses from someone on Craigslist, I would have laughed at you, but the other choices are so expensive. The seller’s house was beautiful, and the bed looked great. It belonged to a little girl who was getting bigger and wanted a full-sized bed. It seemed like a good buy. Besides, Lauren has taught me how to look for bedbugs.
It has been great to have a reason to sort and stash all the boxes I’ve been keeping in the guest room. And I have had a ton of fun shopping for bedding. I got quilty bedspreads. I like them.
The tall bed is a little high for my mom or my Aunt Marlys, so I decided to get a step-stool for whoever uses it. More shopping! Yay!
Gorgeous! I will write more later!
I can’t wait to try them out!!
That’s a great find! I think little step stools are adorable for tall beds.
Great solution! Watch that step stool getting down in the a.m. (or when traipsing to the powder room at night) – it would seem easy to misstep if you aren’t paying attention…’course, that could just be my issue.
Have a wonderful visit!
Ok, we had a snow day and I had to go in early, so I didn’t have time to check this. I love the beds! I love everything about them! (Especially that they are bedbug-free.) That is a brilliant set-up for your guest room, and they look so nice! Plenty of storage under there for guest suitcases, too. Just fantastic. 😀
