Acid Antidote

I’ve been having acid stomach consistently for several days now. I know what my triggers are, and I’ve been avoiding them, but it hasn’t seemed to be working.

My regular fix for an acid stomach is milk. And when it’s really bad, I mix in some Carnation Breakfast Essentials powder (that’s what Carnation Instant Breakfast is called now).

Last night was actually a little better. Maybe this is going away…

Sorry about your gut. That is no fun, but at least you found a lovely glass for your milk!

Somebody – Beth or my brother – said that when you take a 14-day course of Prilosec (I think that’s what it is, I got the generic stuff), it kind of ‘resets’ your stomach acid system for a while. Take that for what you will, but my stomach has not been too awful lately.

Yup. Generic Omeprazol/Prilosec. The pink/teal pills. 14 days to a reset. I didn’t believe it when a doctor told me to try, but got desperate once, and sure enough it worked for me. (It may not work on anyone else in the whole world, I recognize that. ;))

I always say, drink a beer, it’ll settle your stomach!! Works for me!! 🙂
