A Rarity

I haven’t been to the beach in MONTHS. I mean, for real. I have been really busy at work, and when I’m not at work, I’m at Safeway or Target or something. And when I’m not at Safeway or Target or something, I’m at home eating some cereal and watching TV.

I don’t often get home very early on weekdays. Yesterday for some reason I was home before five. I decided I’d go to the beach and take a walk. The beach is less than five minutes’ walk from my apartment.

Yesterday the sky was cloudy, so I didn’t have to worry about sunscreen or a hat. It was delightful.

I walked for thirty minutes.

I walked for thirty minutes.

There you go – part of the appeal of moving to Maui. You have a spa-like therapy session practically in your backyard. If I loved the ocean, I’d really gush about it, but instead let me say how nice it was that you were home by 5. Hooray!

Do you see very many others walking along the beach, or do you think the time of day makes a difference?

I think there weren’t many people out yesterday because it was threatening rain. The time of day probably matters too. On past walks, I’ve met many other walkers and joggers. It’s a relatively long stretch of beach, so it makes a good track.

Loved that beach. My sister and I saw many walkers out each morning. A beautiful beach.

What a great exercise for you! Walking on the beach is so calming and good for you and your feet! (if you go barefooted) I ran barefooted one time on the beach and I loved it and my feet didn’t hurt!! If I lived near a beach, that would be my THANG!
