Sunday is my usual grocery shopping day. I usually get some raw vegetables for my lunches at school. This is what the vegetable shelves looked like yesterday:
I also usually get milk. I drink SO much milk. This is what the milk shelves looked like:
I didn’t end up getting vegetables, because there weren’t any. I really needed milk, so I got the last lactose-containing, non-nondairy milk that was left. It was a half-gallon of local Hawaiian milk. It was $6. Yikes!
The hurricane kept the supply ships from coming to the island. They were apparently carrying vegetables and milk. I’ll be okay for a couple of days, but if I can’t get some more milk, I’m going to be in trouble.
Good grief! That is a glimpse into a post-apocalyptic scene if I ever saw one. You are going to have to learn how to milk a chicken.
I stopped at a different grocery store after school today, and was able to get to whole gallons of milk! It’s even my regular brand of skim. Yay!
