LA is Big

My first day in LA started early. Denis had an appointment to get a pre-job health check, and the location was an hour away from his friends’ house, at which we were staying.

I waited in the car.

I waited in the car.

After the doctor visit, we drove an hour back to his friends’ place of work, the Getty Museum. There was a new exhibit there that featured an old Torah, an old Bible, and an old Koran. I was most fascinated by the old Bible. It was from the mid-1400’s. So cool!

For lunch, we were back near Denis’ new apartment – another hour of driving. We went somewhere that is unavailable to me in Maui: Chick-fil-A. Mmm… it was so good…

In the afternoon, Denis made the final arrangements for his new apartment in LA. It’s really nice. It has a beautiful courtyard, and two pools. The apartment itself is really nice too.

In the evening, we went back to Denis’ friends’ house to get our stuff. It was only a 40 minute drive because the traffic was lighter. Forty more minutes, and we were back at Denis’ new place, where we spent the night.

Thank you for the many wonderful photos! I love the illuminations in the Bible – those are so fascinating. The amount of detail is crazy.

Also, I love the photos of Denis’ new place! It looks really, really nice and I’m already imagining how I’d set it up if I lived there. (Rich Inner World is taking over.)

Have fun in the big city!

Lauren took my “I love illuminated letters!” comment so I have nothing for today’s post…except that I am glad Chic-fil-A food makes you smile. Outside of their peach milkshakes, I have never been a huge fan (shocking!), but I am obviously in the minority in that. Enjoy those nuggets, etc., for me then.

Denis’ new digs sound and look wonderful – “many happy times there, Denis!”
