On his way from Baltimore to LA, Denis stopped in Las Vegas and left some of his stuff at a friend’s house. Since he has a new apartment now, he has a place for his stuff. So yesterday, left for Vegas to get it.
Denis’ friends’ house is real close to where my niece Alicia teaches, so we stopped by and surprised her after school was out. It was a short visit, because she was rushing off to the airport to fly to Illinois for a wedding. I’m glad we didn’t come a day later – we would have missed her!
Instead of driving all the way back to LA, we stayed at the Vegas strip. Woo hoo! We stayed at The Excalibur.
After getting our room, we went walking around. A lot of people were taking selfies in front of the casinos, so I took one too.
We didn’t stay up very late. I’m not so good at that. The room was on the 25th floor, so the view was amazing.
We’re driving back to LA today. Denis has some unpacking to do, and I have some laying around to do.
Wow!! How awesomely fun!! I’m so glad you got to surprise Alicia! This whole vacation is turning out to be quite the magnificent adventure. I hope today is just as fun!
After “second”-ing everything Lauren has already said (shaking my fist in the air at Lauren for always taking thoughts out of my head), I have to add:
1. Of all the places one could stay in Vegas, that castle place has most often caught my eye. So I vicariously enjoyed your stop over there…thanks for that.
2. Were I to ever go to Vegas, I would have to look up a show at the Penn & Teller Theater, as I am an avid fan of their “Fool Us” show on the CW and totally mesmerized by well-done illusions. Don’t suppose you had any time to take in any shows while you were passing through? (I had a friend from my Chicago teaching days who is building a business relationship with Penn Gilette and working on his rabid atheism as he is able to. Prayers for Scott’s efforts in this area would always be appreciated.)
BTW: I’m not really upset with you, Lauren – I only check Brad’s blog weekly these days do to the busy schedule of a retiree (ahem). It’s not your fault that you are more faithful and regular than I. Sending a cyberhug…
No worries, and a hug right back, Carol. It’s good to see that my psychic classes are paying off. 😉
