Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Quilted

I spent all day at school yesterday because I couldn’t make myself start working. I went to church, then into my classroom, where I sat and did a lot of nothing. I did get some work done though, so that’s good I guess.

Since I don’t have any exciting pictures from yesterday, I’ll show a thing I bought from the craft fair room at Pumpkin Fest on Friday. It’s a quilted piece made from an aloha shirt. The shirt is a Sig Zane shirt. He is a fashion designer from Hawaii.

The shirt fabric has been pieced into a “friendship” pattern. There are some buttons left on it, which is a cool detail.

I’m writing this all down for the memory archive, because one of the women from my church who was involved in making it told me all this, and I don’t want to forget.

It looks nice with an IKEA flower arrangement.

I looked at the link before reading your post, so when I saw the finished piece it looked just as it should. Good ol’ Zane. The swirly stitching on that is lovely!

So, people quilt in Hawaii? Forgive me, but it seems like quilts are pretty unnecessary in your neck of the ocean. (Kidding! I know it’s an art form.)
