A week ago, I got a potted plant instead of getting cut flowers. I was hoping the flowers would last longer. They haven’t.
I’ve kept the plant watered, but maybe it was too much water. Or maybe the afternoon heat in my apartment was just too much.
Whatever the case, my mum is looking pretty withered. Maybe I’ll go back to cut flowers. Or maybe I should try a different kind of plant. Hmmm…
I learned on a pocast recently that many plants sold at grocery stores naturally have a short life span. This came up in the podcast to reassure listeners who feel they have failed when a plant dies. I think it is a little bit sneaky to sell something with planned obselecence, but I suppose Apple does it all the time.
What? That is just mean. Also stupid. If someone like Brad can’t keep a plant alive, then it makes sense that it was pre-planned to die.
