Yesterday after school, one of my students came back into my room to give me something from her mom. She said it was from a new bakery in town.
What could it be?
Inside were two treats: a bread thing with jelly in it, and donut-like thing with sweet bean filling. A while back, I wouldn’t have thought of beans as a sweet treat, but I’ve had enough bean-filled pastries that I’ve come to like them. I ate the whole bean-y donut. It was good.

What a nice family! I am so curious about the flavor and texture. I’m sure it is delicious, but it’s a hard concept to wrap my head around. Yesterday we had refried beans, so that’s my only comparison. That’s probably very different.
