A Walk in the Park

Yesterday was Skip Day for the eighth graders. That means it was Bonding Day for the seventh and sixth graders. Since they will be sharing the modular classrooms next year and working together a lot, we took them to the park for a little while in the morning.

One of the seventh graders’ dad works for the fire department, and he brought two fire trucks to spray them down. It was fun!

I bought a kite a few months ago, thinking I’d fly it some weekend. That hasn’t happened. I brought it along yesterday and flew it a little. It was fun, but I think maybe I want something bigger and fancier now… maybe a box kite.

Some of the kids tried out the kite as well. I think for some of them, it was their first time flying a kite. I suppose it’s one of those experiences you don’t experience unless you or someone else specifically arranges it, and how many people just go out and fly kites these days?

Yay!! The kite was flown! What an awesome day for the kids and the adults! That dad is a superhero.

I just can’t get over your skies. That bottom picture is astonishing!

I bought my dad a kite for father’s day….. last year…. and we still haven’t flown it? Not windy here much. Something about a kite, so colorful and the idea of it just makes you want to get one…. even if you don’t take it out much. Good for you!
