My trainer has an old car in her garage. I’m not good at knowing what old cars are, but this is like a 1950’s car of some kind. It’s cool.
Her rear-view mirror has some soft-toy ornaments that I commented on. She said they were concha, a kind of Mexican sweet bread. She said she liked them but didn’t know any place on Maui to get them.
On Friday, on my way back from a faculty gathering at the beach, I passed a small taco stand I knew about, and I saw that they had pastries. Did they have concha?
Yes! Yes, they did! I got a few and took them to her. It was so fun! I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out if they tasted like she remembers.
Yay! You are a pastry hero! I hope she likes them. When I saw the picture and first started reading your post, I thought, “A physical trainer has actual pastries hanging in her car? Is this some kind of power trip?” Whew. Just toys.
