Crying and Cleaning

Our eighth grade graduation was yesterday morning during church. It was a nice service. I’m feeling particularly emotional about this eighth grade class. Maybe it’s because it’s smaller. Or maybe it’s just how I’m feeling this year. Whatever the case, they’re great kids, and I will miss them. I cried a few times during the service.

In the afternoon, I worked on straightening up my condo. I will have house guests while I’m in Nebraska, so the condo needs to look good. The kitchen counters have been messy for a while now, so that’s where I concentrated my efforts. It helped that I got a new dish drying rack. New purchases are always such good motivators for cleaning. I should buy more stuff!

I still need to take care of the stuff on that ledge.

I wont leave the paper towels there. I just shoved them over to clean off the counter.

    Bravo! It’s looking marvelous!

I think it’s ok to get emotional at an end-of-year service. It’s a time of endings and beginnings, and that’s always sad and also exciting. It’s also tough doing this for so many years, so there’s also the ‘wearing down’ feeling. Solidarity, man.
