Pre-Paint Procedure

My bathroom progress slowed down a little yesterday. I went to Home Depot in the morning to get paint, because painting the bathroom walls is my next step. I found two colors that went with the tile, but I couldn’t choose which one to use, so I just went back home.

I did make a little progress though. Before painting, I needed to texture the walls. I had taken some pictures of the walls and showed them to the Home Depot guy. He knew that the texture was called “orange peel”. He also knew it came in a can.

The texturizing turned out pretty good. Here are pictures of the original finish, and one of the patch areas:

It comes in a can? That is crazy! Do you spray it on and flatten it out somehow?

Way to go, you! Let me help you with your paint choice: the one on the left.

Neato! I’ve mixed joint compound and the paint and then frosted the wall with a big putty knife like a giant flat cake! A can is fun…. faster, easier, cleaner…. yay for you! Yes, the one on the left. Ha
