Turkey Now and Forever

At the end of the school year, my principal gave me a turkey. He had been keeping it in a freezer at school, but needed to take it out for summer stuff. He didn’t have room in his freezer at home, so he gave it to me.

I cooked it last night. Mmm…

After having my fill of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and gravy, I made dinners and froze them. It made nine frozen dinners. I’ll be eating turkey for days and days! Mmm…

The bags at the bottom of the freezer are full of turkey too. I thought maybe I could make a soup or casserole or pot pie or something. That sounds good, right?

Yes! It is the best meal in the world!! I love your pre-made plates. Mmmmmm…..

I think Lloyd’s family reunion should have thanksgiving dinner for one of the meals. It’s so good…..

Instead of chicken noodle soup, you can substitute turkey. I’ve canned the meat with the carrots and onions and celery in advance, along with broth. Then I just add the noodles when I’m done.

Thanks for the idea, Kristi! I’ve never canned anything. Maybe I could freeze the turkey and add the meat to the other ingredients whenever I want to make soup.
