To Buy or Not to Buy

I like cut flowers, but I’m undecided about whether or not to get them when I’m at the store. I mean, they’re lovely, but they don’t keep me alive like food does, and they don’t add to my permanent junk collection like a book or clothing or another shoehorn would.

I suppose an argument for getting them would be that they’re like may air conditioning. I don’t really need to run my air conditioner. I could never turn it on and still be alive. But I’d be unhappy. Are flowers in the category of making me happy? This week, they are. I bought some at the grocery store the other day.

Carnations! Yay!

Carnations! Yay!

I think I fall on the side of ‘get them’. They bring you happiness when you see them, and that is worthwhile.

I know i would die without flowers! Yes, get flowers whenever you can! Good choice on carnations, they will last longer than most! Yay pink!

Brad, Brad, Brad…this is how you make life-altering decisions?! “they’re lovely, but they don’t keep me alive like food does, and they don’t add to my permanent junk collection like a book or clothing or another shoehorn would. ” Ha! You make me smile, dear friend.

BTW – Holy Cross had a temporary power outage before church and I thought of you – we almost opened worship with “Here in This Place” on the piano. [We normally use recorded music for the entire service – it’s really cool actually, but I digress.] Then the juice came back on, and I was a little sad because we’d go back to the prerecorded stuff…’cept for the return of the A/C…not sad about that at ALL. But I digress again… 😉

Say – I hear Hurricane Eric might give y’all some grief. Batten those hatches – grab Gus – stay safe!
