The preschool at our school has had a playhouse on the lawn for many years. Termites had done their job though, and the playhouse was in bad shape, so a couple of weekends ago, some volunteers tore it down.
I wasn’t part of the tear-down, but yesterday I helped with the groundwork for new play equipment. We had to cut out the sod, and dig to get the ground level. It was a lot of work.
It was hot work, but it was fun to feel like a gardener again, digging in the ground. And as a bonus, I saw something I’ve read about, but never seen: the one kind of snake that lives in Hawaii – the brahminy blind snake.
It’s so small you’d think it was a worm, but it moves differently, and is a different kind of shiny than a worm. I actually didn’t realize what I was seeing until one of the other workers said what it was. Then I scrambled for my camera.
Squick, lol. Even that small, eeeeuuuuuu! Great for you tho to get to see…. and hold? Again, eeuuuu. I feed our turtle worms that i call baby snakes cause they are huge worms…..i use a tiny rake to put them in the tank, i don’t even touch them for a minute. And no, i don’t fish.
What the what?? How is that a snake. What does it eat, tiny little mice? Not possible.
