Upcountry Adventure

I hadn’t been upcountry for a while, so I went yesterday. One of my favorite stops there is the True Value hardware store. They have a nice nursery.

They didn’t have any plants that I wanted, but they did have honey. Yum!

There is a succulent nursery nearby, so I went there too. It has many weird and wonderful plants.

They didn’t have any honey, but I did get a cool plant:

It’s a Devil’s Backbone plant. I’ve seen them before, but never with pink leaves. So cool! It will join the other succulents on my lanai.

“Devil’s Backbone” is such a cool, yet creepy, name. I can’t unsee the spine now. Couldn’t it be something like “Pink Ladder” or “Pointy-Uppy Leaves” instead?

What a great trip for you! You need some biscuits for that honey! And a Bible for that evil plant! It’s a very cool plant tho! I actually have a succulent that’s called “devils spine ” so i’m right there with ya.
