A Quarter-cup Short

I wanted to make chocolate chip cookies yesterday. I was pretty sure I had all the ingredients. I almost did. I was short on flour. I put in a little extra oatmeal, hoping that would make up for it.

It didn’t. The cookies are super flat. They’re weird-looking, but they taste ok. Maybe I’ll take some to church for Bible study hour…

    I disagree – they look perfect! I bet the oatmeal made a great texture, too. In fact, now I want to bake some cookies. (Yours are too far away.)

    Mmmmm, yep, they look pretty good to me! Nothin wrong with flat…. you can’t taste flat! More oatmeal, good idea, i love oatmeal cookies. Now i want to make oatmeal cookies?

    The thinner the better in my book – says she who rarely bakes or cooks anything anymore. If you remember the Otterbein bakery from old B’more, that was their signature approach – yielding crunchy goodness in a bag, as I recall.
