I watched a LOT of Babylon 5 tv episodes yesterday. It was awesome, but around 4pm, I started feeling kind of like a lump, and decided I’d go out looking for some Christmas lights.
I wanted blue LED lights in an icicle configuration. I decided to go to Target first. No luck, but I did get some milk, because I was almost out.
Next, I went to Lowe’s. At first, I didn’t think they had what I wanted, but then I saw it – one box left. Woo hoo! I got it.
I stopped by the plant pots, because for a long time I have been looking for a white pot for my kitchen table. One of the difficulties of living on a small island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is that there is sometimes a lack of variety in stores.
I’ve looked at the pots in Lowe’s many times and haven’t seen what I wanted, but this time for some reason I crouched down and looked in the back of the shelves, and there it was – exactly what I wanted. Woo hoo! I got it.
The previous owner had put nails in the lanai roof, so hanging the lights was super easy.
I potted the plant right away too. As a bonus, it gave me a reason to clean off my table.
And just so you don’t go crazy wondering what I did with the milk, here it is in my refrigerator:

I haven’t put Christmas lights outside in years. It makes me feel a little bit Grinchy. Well, it’s not wrong…..
This was a win-win-win post, Brad – thanks for sharing all the delights (you see what I did, right? “De lights”? Anyway…) with your friends in cyberspace. Enjoy that colorful lanai even in the “winter” now (as if Hawaii had that).
(My Mom used to like blue bulbs in all the window candles at Christmas. For some reason, I thought it made our house look like a funeral parlor…but yours are LOVELY! Ahem…)
