Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

On the Floor

When I graded on Sunday, I took a break to put my feet up on the desk. (Actually, I took the break before I started grading. But I was tired, so give me a break.)

While I was resting, my wallet slid out of my pocket onto the floor. I didn’t pick it up because I was comfortable and didn’t want to move.

Some time later, I finally got to work on my grading. It was tedious as usual, and by the time I was finished, I was grumpy and it was getting dark.

I rushed out to my car and headed to the grocery store, where I quickly got everything I needed for the week. I wanted to get home in time to relax a little before bed.

When I got to the checkout, I reached for my wallet, then realized – it was still on the floor by my desk in my classroom. D’oh! The checker was nice. She said they would put everything back. I slinked back to my car and went home.

Stupid wallet falling out of your stupid pocket on the stupid floor. I shake my fist at it for you!

Also, all breaks given! I spent half of Sunday on a sofa.

HATE when that happens…but LOVE that your wallet was neither stolen nor really lost. The older I get, the more anxious I become if I cannot feel both my wallet and my cell phone before going from point A to point B. Now that there is a Medicare and Supplemental card to risk losing…why do I even leave the house?!

I knew at the beginning of your post there would be a wallet need while wishing you had the missing wallet.
