Beautiful Monsters

The trees I’ve planted at school continue to do well, but I’m worried about what will happen to them over Christmas break. Winter is supposed to be the rainy season, but we haven’t had much rain yet.

I’m also a little worried about the other plants growing there. Most notably, the bougainvillea, and the passion fruit vines. Both of them have beautiful flowers, and the passion fruit even has fruits, but the are super aggressive. I might need to trim them. If the trees survive.

There is a white passion flower in the lower left corner. The pink ones are bougainvillea.

It’s quite strange thinking about plants being aggressive. Punk plants. I’ve seen some beautiful things done with bamboo to provide shade on a playground, but bamboo is also aggressive, yes? Dang.
