Bin and Bucket

Today is the Ides of March! Dang, I’m not in school. I love to talk about it with my students. “Beware the Ides of March!” “Et tu, Brute?”

The bin I got on Friday to catch the condensation from my air conditioner was too tall. Yesterday I took it back. There wasn’t anything else at Target that would work, so I went to Lowe’s. They had exactly the right size:

While I was at Lowe’s, I asked about getting a hose that would screw on to the drainage opening of the air conditioner. The guy helping me didn’t know what size I needed, but once he heard I had a vinyl tube already, he suggested I get a clamp band. It was the perfect fix! I gasped out loud when he suggested it.

Since I won’t be using the small bucket for drainage anymore, I can put it to a different use: I can hang it on the spigot by my lanai while I water my plants. I bought a hose months ago, but haven’t used it because the leaky spigot drips down onto my neighbor’s lanai. The bucket was the perfect solution! Yay!
