Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Normal-ish

My first day back to school was AWESOME! It was so good to see the kids again. We were super careful – masks always on, washing hands, using sanitizer, wiping desks down. The kids are on board with the measures, so that’s great! Oahu has been seeing a spike in covid cases, and Maui is still getting a few each day, so we may eventually need to go online, but until then, it’s wonderful to be back!

I only took one picture yesterday, and it was of kids in my classroom, so I won’t post it here. I’ll just say again that I’m very, very happy. πŸ™‚

Yay!!! Congratulations! I saw the photo on your school’s Facebook page, and it’s so good to see your crew together! πŸ™‚ Happy Day Two!

Thanks for letting us know how it went. I think my kids will be fine with all the precautions, even if they don’t do anything like that at home. We always do things differently in school. This is just one more thing.

    Congratulations on starting school!

I needed to read that someone has already had a positive Day One (well, not COVID positive, of course…you know what I mean, right?) in their classrooms. All I keep thinking about are the unanswered questions of “What do we do when the first teacher spikes a fever during the day?” and “Will the washrooms continue to have full soap dispensers now (they never did in previous years)?” Tomorrow’s am Zoom faculty meeting may address some of this stuff – and even if it doesn’t, it’s good to know there are some students back in their seats and ready to learn again. God bless your year, Brad!
