Surprising Ending

I have been drinking Carnation breakfast drink for more than 25 years. I have recently been trying to find a way to make a replacement for it with erythritol. I wanted to stop drinking a giant glass of sugar first thing every morning. About a month ago, I did. I stopped drinking Carnation breakfast drink.

I don’t know how it happened. I didn’t suddenly exert superior will power. I didn’t make some Big Decision. I just stopped.

I had been drinking just a glass of milk in the mornings, but I wanted something more – something that didn’t take very long to make. I decided on hard boiled eggs. All I have to do is peel them. So far so good.

Wow. That is a pretty significant life change! You’ve got the milk – which you love – and protein in a neat little package, and no sugar! I am super-impressed!

I’m guessing you’re going to get a card from Carnation, though. “To our biggest fan…… are you ok?”

Cheese…and just yesterday I congratulated you on the cheaper milk so you COULD drink that Instant Breakfast sugar- er – drink for breakfast. Timing is everything.

For a moment I thought you were going to describe a morning drink my maternal grandmother had made be consume often growing up: milk with raw egg in it. (These were pre-“Rocky” days, too!) No idea what she thought I was in training for, but once I got past the occasional slimy sensation going down, I was kinda used to them. Never wanted them since she stopped serving them, though. Will never look for them on a menu anywhere either. Translation: glad those eggs are hard boiled.

Hehe… I saw that comment, and then thought maybe I should post this update to my breakfast habits. Unfortunately, I have a TON of unused powder. Fortunately, most of it is still sealed, so I will take it to the food bank. Surely it can be of use to someone else. It’s very tasty, what with all the sugar.

Also, maybe I should try that egg-in-milk thing. Did she stir it? Blend it? just crack the egg in, and you gulped it down?

Yes. One of those. I can’t honestly recall, but logic tells me she must have mixed the egg and milk together sufficiently that it was potable, if you catch my drift. Maybe a little whisking? Good luck with that…
