I got together with my coworker Peter yesterday morning to hike the Lahaina Pali trail. I was excited, because we parked a car on one side, then drove to the other side, and we were going to hike the entire thing. Woo hoo!
We started on the “south” side. I have gone up and back on that part of the trail two or three times. It’s rocky and dry.
It gives a great view of the “valley”, that is, the middle part of the island. We stopped a few times for pictures. This is Kihei, where I live:
We got about 45 minutes into the hike, and Peter said his shoe felt weird. His sole was coming off. He tied his shoestring around it to keep it on, but it wasn’t working. We had to turn around. Good thing, too. His other sole came off too.
So we didn’t get to do the whole hike, but we did get a good story out of it. And we went out for breakfast afterward. It was a good outing.
We’ll try again some other time.
Wow! He walked his shoes off! Not a lot of people can say that.
