Approximate Batter

Long ago, I noticed a recipe on the Hershey’s Cocoa container for making hot cocoa. You first make a chocolate “syrup”, then mix in the milk. Instead of mixing the milk, I’d just eat the syrup. It reminded me of brownie batter. Mmm…

I’ve tweaked it over the years, and it’s gotten better. Just recently I made a change that really made it more batter-like – I added malt powder. Mmm… it’s so much better now.

It’s one part cocoa powder, two parts sugar, dash of salt, splash of vanilla, one part malt. Add milk and stir until it’s batter-like. Eat with a spoon.

    While I’m personally not a fan of eating batter, I must say – that looks pretty dang decadent!
