More Christmas

Yesterday felt like another Day of Christmas. (It was the Fifth Day of Christmas, in case you’re counting)

It snowed here yesterday! It was so beautiful! I know it’s a pain in the neck for people who are not on vacation, but I really appreciated it.

Lloyd and I shoveled some driveways and sidewalks. It was tiring, but I was glad for the exercise. I’ve been eating so much, it was nice to burn some calories.

In the afternoon we played a board game with Tara and Tim, but only after we made snow slushees with snow and soda. They were really good!

In the evening, I had dinner at my mom’s house. She served angel food cake for dessert. She often makes it, but I feel like I hardly ever see angel food cake elsewhere. I wonder why. Do people just not eat it?

That looks like a delightful day, and thank you for shoveling my driveway!

Your mom is an angel for making that cake, because it is a bit of a bother. It uses a bunch of egg whites, which means you have to separate a bunch of eggs, and what do you do with the egg yolks, I wonder?

I’m so glad you got a good snow. I did not have anywhere to go, so I did not mind it, either. I shoveled several times throughout the day so that it was not as heavy to move.

About that angel food cake: you’ll not see one at the Frey home, despite the fact that Thurman loves them, since Mrs. Frey here was served it growing up almost every day. Every single day. No exaggeration there. That and Jell-O, which we also rarely have for a comparable reason. Some nonsense about my maternal grandmother (who lived with us for 22 wonderful years, she types quite sarcastically) having 1/3 of her stomach removed due to stomach cancer and so she could only eat bland, dull, soft things…or so she said.

But good thing you all enjoy them – they can be a bit tricky to make. Yea, Elaine, for taking the time because of your family.
