Fusty Floor

(Did you know the word “fusty”? I was using a thesaurus so my title could alliterate, and I ended up learning a new word! Fusty! Ha! It’s fun to say. Fusty! Fusty!)

I don’t know if it was the hard winds or the horizontal rain or the sheer volume of water that fell, but rain got into my truck. The passenger-side floor was wet. And stinky. Yuck. It smelled like feet in my truck when I got into it yesterday morning.

The floor mat sure does keep the dirt off the carpet. I should vacuum that front part…

I tried airing it out during the day, but it’s still so humid, that didn’t help much. On my way to Bible study, I stopped at the grocery store and got a box of baking soda. I poured the whole box onto the floor. I think it helped a little.

Ugh. I thought ‘fusty’ was going to be a fun word, not a smelly word. Still fun, though. 🙂

The baking soda should help. Does your school have a shop vac? You could try dry vacuuming out all the gunk then washing it? I don’t know what will help, but I’m sure Google does.

Long live baking soda! We used that before we got new rugs installed in the living room for a similar reason (read “pet rain” and use your imagination…). May your truck soon return to its usual unoffensive aroma.
