Last night at school was a meet-and-greet picnic with middle school families. It was delightful! I often get stressed-out when shuffling papers and moving books around, but as soon as I see kids, I’m excited about the year. This was no exception.
I think I met more sixth graders than anything, but I did meet a few seventh graders and eighth graders. The bulk of my talking was with parents. I had lots of fun conversations about LA and the neighborhoods surrounding the school. There were many long-time residents. It was interesting to hear their stories.
It sure seems like you’ve joined a great community. Is this event something they do each year? What a cool way to get to know other families!
